Holistic counselling is a relaxed style of coaching which considers you as a whole being that relates to the world from your mind, body and spirit.
We all try to manage as best we can, but sometimes solutions evade us and we get stressed out over specific problems. Stress can eventually lead to dis-ease if we are not managing it well. Everyone benefits from having someone to talk to. Friends and family often take on this role, but what if they are part of the problem? Or perhaps you don't have anyone close by and feel isolated?
Lynda welcomes clients from all walks of life and is non-discriminatory. Personal beliefs are but colouring agents that add to your unique life journey and influences how it proceeds. Sessions can be undertaken in the comfortable environment of clinic, or if you prefer we can change it up and walk and talk!
A counselling session can help you to:
- Gain perspective around a problem/challenge you currently have.
If we ruminate over a problem in our mind rather than discussing out loud with another person, we often get caught in a recurrent viewpoint about it and can't find a solution. In a session, we take the time needed to explore that which is troubling you in detail. Believe it or not, there can often be a deeper, less obvious reason or multiple reasons, that are fuelling an issue we are challenged by, so we really try to drill down and gain insight.
- Understand and learn ways to help manage stress symptoms and undertake self-care. When we are feeling uptight or anxious, our mental clarity becomes distorted and our body is drained of energy, so we become less able to make decisions and changes that we most need to feel happier.
- Explore our mind, body and spirit connection for the process of healing our body.
When we are sick we often think only about getting rid of physical symptoms, but every disease has many contributory factors. It helps to consider that our thoughts and emotions play an integral part in our wellbeing. If we are to permanently heal the body from major illness, we must also recognise what forms of stress we have in our life and if there are aspects of our life we feel unhappy or unfulfilled.
- Recognise what is most important to you and create an action plan to transition from your current situation and achieve the change you require.
